SELF WORTH - For Ladies

"What kind of man are you looking for?"

"Do you really want to know?"

As a woman in this day and age, I am in a position to ask a man what can you do for me that I can't do for myself? I pay my own bills. I take care of my household without the help of any man... or woman for that matter. I am in a position to ask, 'What can you bring to the table?'

Clearly the man thought that she was referring to money.

I am not referring to money. I need something more. I need a man who is striving for excellence in every aspect of life.

The man asked for an explanation.

She said,

'I need someone who is striving for excellence mentally because I need conversation and mental stimulation. I don't need a simple-minded man.

I need someone who is striving for excellence spiritually because I don't need to be unequally yoked... believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe for a disaster.

I need a man who is striving for excellence financially because I don't need a financial burden.

I need someone who is sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a woman, but strong enough to keep me grounded.

I need someone who has integrity in dealing with relationships. Lies and game-playing are not my idea of a strong man.

I need a man who is family-oriented. One who can be the leader, priest and provider to the lives entrusted to him by God.

I need someone whom I can respect. In order to be submissive, I must respect him. I cannot be submissive to a man who isn't taking care of his business. I have no problem being submissive... he just has to be worthy.

And by the way, I am not looking for him... He will find me. He will recognize himself in me. He may not be able to explain the connection, but he will always be drawn to me. God made woman to be a help-mate for a man. I can't help a man if he can't help himself.

The man said with a puzzled look on his face, 'You are asking a lot.'

She replied, "I am worth a lot."

Every Person Is Worthy of Respect (sharing)

"Love always treats people with respect."

-By Rick Warren (Dec 3, 2015)

"Show proper respect to everyone." (1 Peter 2:17a NIV)

Respect has become an endangered value over the past few decades. We live in the "Age of Irreverence," where sarcasm rules the day and everyone loves a good put down.

Yet the Bible makes it clear that stable families - and stable societies - are built around respect. The Bible commands us to honor our parents, respect civil authority, and respect church leaders. Wives are called to respect husbands in Ephesians. In the book 1 Peter, husbands are called to respect wives. Just to make it clear that the Bible leaves no one out, the Bible also tells us to "show proper respect to everyone" (1 Peter 2:17a NIV).

Everyone, regardless of beliefs or behaviors, is worthy if respect.

1. God made everyone. Psalm 8:5 says, "You [God] made them inferior only to yourself; you crowned them with glory and honor" (GNT). God doesn't make junk. No one is worthless. People make wrong decisions all the time, but they are still valuable to God. Even the most unlovable person in the world is loved by God.

2. Jesus died for everyone. The Bible says, "God paid a ransom to save you .... He paid for you with the precious life blood of Christ" (1 Peter 1:18-19a TLB). You may not place much value in certain people, but God does. In fact, he says every person you meet is worth dying for.

3. It shows you know God. The Bible tells us that God is love. If you know God, you'll fill your life with love. The Bible says, "If a person isn't loving and kind, it shows that he doesn't know God - for God is love" (1 John 4:8). Love always treats people with respect.

4. You'll get back whatever you give out. It's the law of the harvest. Whatever goes around comes around. If you want to be respected, you must treat other people with respect. The Bible says, "A man's harvest in life will depend entirely on what he sows" (Galatians 6:7b Phillips).

Talk it Over:

-Every person you meet today is worthy of your respect. How will that change your behavior?

-Who do you have the most trouble showing respect to? Why?

-What are some ways you can "fill your life with love"?

2015 resolutions

Here's my resolutions for 2015.

Besides these, I'm also hoping that I could save and spend more wisely :)

Can you really trust them?

I've been reading this book by Dr. James Dobson.

(And of course, I sometimes read while imitating his voice in my head haha.)

(taken by instagram)

The topic of this book is self explanatory.

It's about EMOTIONS

...and whether we should really trust them.

The first part of the book was about: GUILT.

I'll write about it next because it was really worth sharing.

Thank You

I just had this feeling that someone out there has been praying well for me.

I am truly blessed.

In Christ alone

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save

Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory
Sins curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From a lifes first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

I will stand, I will stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground, all other ground
Is sinking sand, is sinking sand
So I stand

From the inside out

A thousand times I've failed
Still your mercy remains
Should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in your grace
Everlasting, your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, your glory goes beyond all fame

Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise
Everlasting, your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, your glory goes beyond all fame

In my heart, in my soul
I give you control
Consume me from the inside out
Let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love you from the inside out

Everlasting, your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring you praise
From the inside out
Lord my soul cries out
